Portugal. The land of sheep's and cute baby lambs. White, brown or black. Running wild on farms you see by the side of the roads. Actually old farms, they call them "quinta" here.
We're now in Meimoa, a small old town. It's the end of winter. Yellow flowers grow wild on every farm and the sun is so bright with light blue skies. Yet, you can still feel the breeze.
See the wind mills spin.
Stone walls are quite the thing in Portugal. We spent the night in a rural town at Meimoa Guesthouse.
It used to be an old Portuguese house, made into an air bnb (alojamiento local). That still has old bricks attached to its walls.
On the walls instead of modern art pictures they hang old tools the Portuguese people used to harvest the wheat.
I just love these "old days vibe" here. They make you feel refreshed and look at the simplicity of life with nostalgic eye. Remembering the simple beauty of your own life.
Every old town you pass. And after spending the night in Meimoa , we took a drive to a UNESCO heritage in an old town named Monsanto , which means "holly mountain".
The people here are so friendly saying Bom día or Bom Ta if it's afternoon. And I love the warm welcome feeling they give you.
I think I love it the same way I love walking old brick roads down the history lane of Portugal. Creating memories on April 2024.
There are a lot of walls of old buildings here, ruins or "ruinas" in portuguese, they are quite famous here in Portugal.
And I wander what are their history. What story do they tell?
